How I want to Live My Life

Ever since I was saved in 7th grade at 12 years old, I knew that I wanted to live for Jesus despite what life would bring at me. During that time, I thought the good news of Jesus was too good to keep it to myself; I began to talk about with my friends and people around me at school. Soon, I was given the opportunity to lead Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at my high school and establish a Christian Club for the purpose of empowering and encouraging fellow Christian brothers and sisters while evangelizing to those who did not know Him. Serving the Lord through ministry allowed me to understand that it was life giving. Broken people that were hurt found a community that loved on them and others who were going through suffering were able to find hope through the club. This desire soon led me to crave a desire to serve the Lord at church. At the end of the day, it was something I was gifted at and found comfort in serving. With no intention of wanting most of my experiences during high school and college years to be in ministry, it’s been something that I’ve been consistently been doing as I have been crafting my resume.

The more I think about how I want to live my life, the more I realized that I am attracted to church ministry. I see myself waking up every single day excited to serve God through church ministry. To affirm my desire to be in ministry, God had given me a gift in teaching, preaching, and hospitality—to name a few. At the same time, I have strong love for sports; many of my friends growing up were athletes all with different personalities and lifestyles than most Christians. However, I felt home right in due to my adoptable personality that made me get along well with all sorts of people. With my love for sports and ministry, I want to be a sports chaplain sometime in the future with professional sports team. God had given me a skill to counsel people with certain issues along with my desire to integrate faith and evangelism. Walking alongside athletes who are dealing with all sorts of pain and drama is an opportunity I wish to take advantage of with full effort.
